More Than a Shift: Protection, Services and Recognition for Every FloatR
Being a FloatR now comes with monthly recognition, access to Stride, insurance on qualifying shifts and a marketplace built on trust. Here's what's new and what to do next.
Every shift on FloatR is filled by a healthcare professional who chose to show up. You draw blood before sunrise, collect specimens across town and keep labs running when they're short-staffed. You're the reason FloatR works.
That's why we believe being a FloatR should mean more than access to shifts. Today we're introducing More Than a Shift, a program built around three commitments to the independent professionals on our platform: more recognition, more services, and more protection.
More recognition
Great work shouldn't go unnoticed. Each month, FloatR customers and our team will nominate standout professionals, and one will be named FloatR of the Month, with a $150 reward through Tremendous. We're looking for FloatRs who show up on time and prepared, earn strong shift ratings and represent healthcare professionals at their best. Our first FloatR of the Month will be announced in November.
More services
Through FloatR's affiliation with Stride, you can explore health, dental, vision and life insurance options built for independent workers. Open Enrollment for 2027 Marketplace coverage begins November 1, so now is a good time to look. Plans, premiums and eligibility vary by person. Plans, premiums and eligibility vary by person.
More protection
Starting with shifts worked on October 1, 2026, FloatRs are covered by FloatR's new contractor insurance program on qualifying shifts. Coverage includes medical malpractice, professional liability, general liability and other important protections, subject to policy terms, conditions and exclusions.
You'll be a named insured under a shared aggregate policy. FloatR has arranged to provide this coverage at a discount with your share being $0.20 per hour worked. This fee will initiate on November 1, 2026.
What it looks like on a shift: A four-hour shift at $22 an hour earns $88. Your insurance charge is $0.80, leaving $87.20 before taxes and other expenses. Your payout will display the charge as a separate line item. The charge applies only to shifts worked on or after November 1, 2026.
A marketplace you can trust
You'll need a completed background check by November 30 to keep claiming shifts on FloatR. It's how we keep FloatR a place that labs, patients and fellow professionals can count on.
